Cramps, Sleep and Logic

Only six weeks since that little bugger was conceived and already I’ve gotten a brief glimpse of what life is going to be like for a good long while. I’m a bit of a night-owl, it’s been that way since college. So last night, seeing as it was a Friday and I didn’t have to be at work the next day, I figured I’d stay up all night drawing, watching tv and torturing the cat. 3 o’ clock rolled around and I was beginning to slip in and out of conciseness like a bad Freddy Kruger flick (this is the second time I’ve used horror flicks as an analogy in this blog, I’m sure there’s a connection). So I figured I’d pack ye olde laptop up and head on up to bed.

It Begins...

Last week I was down in Boston for a 2-day training seminar with my work. My wife (Rachael) and I (Mark) had been sort of/kind of/maybe trying to get pregnant. And let’s be clear for a moment. Anytime somebody tells you that they and their spouse are “trying to have a baby”, it just means they’re doing it. A lot. If a guy tells you this, just take it as a brag on his part, it’s the married-life equivalent to boasting about your most recent lay.

I lost one of the most important people in my life Friday. In 2001, I began my college career. I say career, but anyone who knows me knows that it was just 5 years of goofing off. I didn't know a single person going into UMass Lowell and years of being a dork in Middle/High school had ripped away at any sense of self-esteem I had in me.

Record Table Numbers

Aside from Six AM, there have been a handful of other projects that I've been cranking out... The biggest of these was for a coworker's wedding. I was asked to create table numbers for her reception... Generally, these kinds of things aren't that exciting, but their idea was too awesome to pass up... They wanted the numbers on actual records, designed to look retro... Here was the end result:
